Highly unusual sumak khorjin face, circa 1875, displaying "Lesghi" medallions overall on a dramatic red ground. THe white strip is Velcro loosely stitched for mounting on the wall. It will be easily removed if you don't want it. Excellent condition, minor surface wear one area, edges have been wrapped. No reweaving. Rare collector piece. Marsh Collection; ex-collection Jerrehian Family Collection, purchased from George O'Bannon, Philadelphia, in the early 90s.
