Central Anatolian kilim, c. 1700
This exceptional early Anatolian kilim draws three distinct sections. Colorful energetic bands of ornament, using both wool and cotton white, are drawn on the top and bottom of a vivid canary gold field. The sides are open and free of any border. Four rows of six octagons, centered with large latch-hooks, are spaciously drawn against this vibrant ground.
